NYC day 5

Day 5 or NYC day 2
So, I don't think I mentioned that when we first got to our hotel, there were people trying to sell us double decker bus tickets.  We decided that this was most likely the best idea since we didn't actually have a plan of where we were going and how to get there.  After a few days there though we did decide that we saw more buses than the ones we bought tickets to, so that would have been a good thing to know before going.  And I think after 2 days on the bus we kind of figured out the best way to do everything.  We got on the bus and went to the stop for the Statue of Liberty, and it was so hot outside.  I liked the bus idea, because we were able to see a lot of thing we wouldn't have seen otherwise, like Madison Square garden on this particular round.  After we got off the bus, there were people there selling tickets to get over to the Statue, so we bought a $12 boat ride and got on a city bus back several blocks to the dock.  Now, we are pretty sure the guy that sold us the tickets told us a fib because he told us we could get off the boat to go on the island.  But, when we got our tickets, it said "this boat does not disembark", so we were kind of stuck.  We weren't too mad though because we still got to see everything we wanted from the boat.  Jerika also got a little sea sick so getting off the boat might not have been the best idea anyway.  We did get to see Ellis Island, The Statue of Liberty, the Manhattan Bridge, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Staten Island Ferry, NYC from the water, and full view of the 911 Monument Building.  Then we got back on the bus and drove past the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, the Financial District and the guy doing the tour on our bus showed us where some "Movie Stars" own apartments.  We were super hungry, so we went to Hard Rock Café in Times Square, walked by where they film Good Morning America and spent some time in Time's Square.  Then we went back to the hotel to get ready for Aladdin that night, which was also amazing!  I had seen the Genie and Aladdin on some tv shows and decided that is what I really wanted to see and everyone else just went along with me.  It was a great decision.  Then after the show we did more Time's Square.  I might mention here that on television when you see Time's Square you think it is just a one street square, but in real life, it is several blocks of lights and craziness.  On every other block, there were always 4 police officers, 2 in regular police uniforms and two in tactical gear with machine guns.  It was pretty crazy!!
The other buses were so close you could actually reach out and touch them if the windows would open.  So, close it was crazy.
