Trip to Utah w/ Gma & Gpa

I am laying in bed not feeling very well, so I decided I would kill a little time and blog. I don't know what is wrong with me, but I am not moving very far away from my bedroom tonight.
Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, we as in Mom, Dad, Kinlee, Jerika & I went to Utah on a Friday to go to 2 weddings and also a viewing. We left on Friday morning and while we were on our way to Utah mom got a phone call that her cousin's husband had died. So when we got to Utah, we went to Shelby's house and then went over to my cousin Lisa's daughter's wedding. It was nice to be able to do a little something with that side of the family. We don't see them very often. Then we got dinner at my new favorite, Panda Express (there is one coming to Idaho Falls soon). We stayed at Shelby's house that night. The next day we did a little shopping and then went to my (almost was my neice) Kylee's reception (long story), but her mom is one of my really good friends. It was so nice and I can't believe she is even old enough to get married!! Then we had dinner at panda express again. The highlight of our trip however, was the early morning Mariachi (?sp?) Band playing in the neighbors garage at 6:15 by my brothers house. There were at least 6 mexicans all dressed in sombraros and suits playing trumpets, etc. You all know what a morning person I am, well Shelby is even less of a morning person than I am. Needless to say he was not happy about the band at all!! It did however make for an early morning and we were up and ready for breakfast much earlier than we had anticipated. It was also mothers day and I got to spend most of my day with my girls and my mom, which was awesome. When we got home from Utah Ray had us a Mother's Day dinner cooked and ready. He is such a good husband!! I love that guy!!

I don't know why it always happens to put my picture first, even though I don't tag them that way. Whatever, that is how it is going to stay. Whenever we travel with mom and dad, mom rides in the back with the girls and I ride up front to take care of dad.

Pretend this is NOT my dad on my Blog, he gets really mad when I post pictures of him anywhere online. But, isn't he cute?

Speaking of cute, look at precious Kinlee in the back seat. She was not a very happy camper this whole trip. It is a good thing we love her, because sometimes she is a LITTLE hard to deal with. She left all of her stuff, clothes, DS, etc. at uncle Shelby's house, I guess I need to be a more responsible mom when it comes to stuf like that.  I am not even sure what she packed, Jerika made sure she had everything she needed.  What good girls I have. Grandma and Jerika were pulling faces at me. I think sometimes they all get sick of me taking pictures, but some day they will all thank me!!

This was on our way to Kylee's reception in Bluffdale. Ashlin, Shelby and Kelsie decided to go with us, so it made it all that much more fun. Kinlee had to sit in the same seat belt as me though, which didn't make for a very comfy ride.  Can you believe Ashy is graduating next week?  We are getting so old!!
I think I am going to sleep now, hopefully I will wake up feeling MUCH better tomorrow.

Teacher Appreciation Week

So, I think I can do everything!! Work full time, take care of two children alone during the week, Young Women's President, run kids to lessons, help at the school on Fridays, etc., etc., etc., but I guess that isn't enough!! So, I volunteered to help with teacher appreciation week at Kinlee's school. Well, this time I needed backup!! We had to color LIFE SIZE pictures of the entire Incredible Family with crayons. Well, mission accomplished, thanks to Jerika, Kinlee and Allisa. They turned out pretty cute, but I didn't get a picture of the finished product. Oh, I also made book marks for all the teachers at the school. Yes, I do need a huge vacation!!

I think this is how we all felt by the time it was done. I must say we did an amazing job.
FYI this post is for you Debbie. I will try to do better!!

Setting up the trampolline.

The girls really wanted to put the trampoline up (thanks Kate!!) and it was warm enough of couple of weekends ago. The problem is that it really hasn't been warm enough to jump on it since then. That is me outside with my family and I was really helping put it up!!

See the silver tarp on the shed? Doesn't it look nice? Well, within the VERY WINDY weeks since putting up the trampoline the wind has torn it to shreds!! I a just really wishing that we have a summer this year. I am beginning to wonder. Last week we even woke up to snow. Hopefully it will warm up soon. I keep reminding myself how much I love it here!!

Boise - Part III - The Luncheon

We had a very nice luncheon after the funeral at the VFW Hall in Caldwell. This picture is all the "Sharps" that were there. It isn't the clearest picture, but once again I should have had my bigger camera. I am going to attempt to identify most of the people in the picture.

Dad, mom, Danene, Mike, Joe, Miles, Merrill, Blake, Nakia, KaReena, Shelby, Jared, Jared's wife, Dave (Tanya's husband), Jared's oldest daughter, Aunt Lecia, Tanya, Kristie, Anita, Kayla, Courtney, Lori, Brenda, Aunt Verla, me, Cody, and Jared's other 3 kids.

I'm pretty sure everyone knows who these people are. All of us girls have on new shoes, thanks mom!! Sorry dad I told a little fib!!

My cute dad and my cute Aunt Verla.

Trip to Boise

For those of you who don't know, my uncle died last week, my dad's brother, Ross Lavar Sharp. Growing up we used to do everything with their family, we were at their house or they were at ours for Holidays and everything else. Anyway, all of us kids were able to go to his funeral last week in Boise. Dad, mom, Nakia, Blake, KaReena, Rylen (Nakia's baby) and I all rode over to Boise in Nakia's suburban. We left on Thursday at 10 so that we could make it to the viewing that evening. Shelby and his wife drove over from Utah later that afternoon also and we met them for dinner and then we all stayed at the same hotel. Merrill drove over late that night and stayed with Kayla, but they both met us the next morning for the funeral. We really did have a good time, even though the circumstances were not favorable at all!! We got a little shopping in and did some manicures and peticures in the hotel.

Anita, Rylen & Nakia

Shelby, I'm sure he was bossing someone around.

KaReena, mom and Anita.

Blake & KaReena.
The best part of having my own blog and having my camera as the only cameral on the trip, I chose not to post the horrible pictures taken of me. However, I am a little saddened that I didn't have my camera with me in Target Thursday night when my mother was trying on hats and trying out purses and walking around the store like a crazy lady!! All in all it was a really good trip and we decided we could handle going on a trip at least once a year with just the siblings and the parents, of couse. Nothing against the spouses, but there was no tension at all and it was just a delightful time. We are sad about my uncle, but all realize he is in a better place now.
I will post some pictures another day of the pictures I took at the cemetary and at the luncheon afterward.

The rest of my Utah trip

My reason for going to Utah was to attend the Auxiliary Training in the conference center. It was 2 1/2 hours of very informative training and it was taught by the General Young Women's Presidency. I am so glad I went.

Salt Lake Temple. I only took my little camera with me, but I think this pictures turned out really well even so. I need to learn to take my big camera with me from now on, live and learn, I guess.

These are a few of my favorite things!! I love, love, love these cookies, and so everytime someone I know (especially me) goes to either Utah or Boise, I make them get me sugar cookies from Mrs. Fields. If anyone has a recipe that actually works, frosting included, I would love to try it and see if it really compares.

Don't they look delightful? This time I did share my cookies and I still won my biggest loser at work, even though I bought and ate cookies.
I am pretty proud of myself about that also. There were 8 of us competing and I lost 19.2 pounds and 10% of my body fat. Now, if I can just keep it off and keep up the good work, I still have a few more pounds to go.

Short visit with Shelby and the Fam...

Mom and I made a quick trip to Utah to a Young Women Auxilary Training meeting.  I really love that mom is retired!!  She was able to just leave and go with me, since none of my young women people could go with me.  We left on Wed. last week at 3:00 and came back on Thursday. We stayed Wed. night and Shelby's house (doesn't he look excited?).

Mom was showing them floor samples and stuff for her kitchen remodel.

Mandy was there too, they were on Spring break in Cheyenne so they came to visit.

Keep in mind I had traveled several hours before this picture. Anita looks much better than me for sure!!

The view from the kitchen, Mandy and Kelsie.
Thanks Allisa for keeping my girls!!  I couldn't have done it without you.  It is such a blessing to have such amazing friends and family!!

Glenn Miller NIght

Since I moved to town, every year I hear about Glenn Miller night and how amazing it is and that I should go. Well, it is a date thing and the tickets are $35.00 per couple. I therefore never have bought tickets because I didn't want to take the chance that Ray wouldn't be home. Let me explain what Glenn Miller night is.... it is prime rib dinner/dancing in a nutshell, but you get to dance to mostly Jazz music provided by the Amazing high school Jazz Band. I had no idea how good they were. Anyway, since Dave had already moved and Kate didn't have a date, we talked about going together to eat and listen. Well, once Kate gets an idea in her head, she runs with it. She called everyone she could think of that would like to go, but might not have a date and we had a girls night out. It was so much fun!!

Kate and Suzette Gee (aren't they cute), I love these guys!!

Me, Kathy Stillman and Kate's mom (Bonnie).

This was our little gourp, we had a few more that wanted to come, but got sick and ended up not being able to come.

Thanks guys, it was a Blast!!

Jerika's Recital - March 24

This is Jerika and her teacher at her recital. Jerika did an amazing job, I was so proud of her. She really does have an amazing voice. I think if I was just making it up and paid for her voice lessons and she was not a good singer, our good friend Allisa would tell me. Isn't that what friends are for anyway? Allisa will understand this post, and that better be all that I say.
