I am doing separate posts because there are so many pictures and I can't decide what to post.

Hello New York City

Day 4 – Goodbye DC, hello NYC
We flew from DC to NYC on a smaller plane than the one we flew over on, and guess what, we didn't even get snacks or a drink, they ran out of time.  We landed at Laguardia and found our bags, which was much easier than I thought, considering that it was a very large airport.  Then we went to the curb out front and was able to get a taxi that actually fit all of our luggage.  We drove to Manhattan on what seemed like little side roads and our hotel was not far from Times Square at all.  Our hotel was actually called The Manhattan at Times Square and the taxi driver found it without too much effort.  I don't think he was going to stop at it, until I noticed we were there and told him that is where we needed to get out.  I can't remember for sure, but I think our taxi only cost about $30, which is what we were kind of expecting.  When we got to the hotel we were able to check in, but couldn't get into our room until later that afternoon, so we decided to go to 5th Ave.  They hotel stored our luggage for us while we were gone, and I might mention that I thought I would have some time to do my hair and change clothes before we went shopping, hence the cute outfit and fabulous hair.   Some of the pictures are selfexplanitory, but we saw where the film the Stephen Colbert show, Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral, NYC Library, Saks Fifth Ave., many fancy stores, Trump Tower, Tiffany & Co., where we got fun pictures and I also bought some perfume so we could get blue bags to take pictures with.  We did find a TGI Friday's along our walk and decided that is where we would eat lunch, which I think was really the only meal we ate that day, except for the breakfast Brenda made for us that morning.  We walked around a lot longer than we thought we would but got back to the hotel in time to get ready to go see Wicked.  We loved it, IT WAS AMAZING AND FABULOUS AND ALL OTHER WORDS OF THE SORT.  It is really a good thing we don't live in New York, because Jerika and I would just want to go to Broadway every single night, and it isn't really cheap.  Our tickets were right around $100 a piece, but worth every penny.  After the show we walked around Times Square a little and then went back to the Hotel and went to bed.  We slept pretty good that night, we were so tired.

Day 3 DC

Day 3 was much less structured, but we fit a lot into 1 day.  That morning Brenda took us to the Metro to ride into town and we met the cutest family from Tennessee.  It was fun to talk to them and compare stories with them about our different states.  We got off the metro down by the "Mall" and it was so hot but we decided to go to the Museum of Natural History I.e. the one in Night at the Museum and then after that we walked to the Washington Monument.  I had looked online to get tickets to go to the top, but it was a little too late and there weren't any.  We did find out when we got there, a little too late I might add, that they give away 800 tickets every day and they are usually gone by 10:00 that morning.  Note to self: the early bird gets the worm, or in this case the trip to the top of the monument.  We just continued around the mall to all of the places there, the pond, President Lincoln, the Vietnam Wall (which nobody will ever understand unless they see it in person), I even got a little emotional to see all of the names on that wall.  After that we went to the White House.  We had tried to get tickets for a tour 5 months ahead of time, but we weren't approved or something so we just got to see the outside.  We did get a taxi to take us to the White House, we were so hot that we decided it was well worth the money.  After the White House we decided we wanted to go to DC Cupcakes in Georgetown, so we got a taxi to take us to Georgetown.  It was so cute there in Georgetown and we went into some of the shops there and had lunch at Chipotle.  Then we went to the cupcake place and had to wait in line for at least a half an hour.  The cupcakes were good,  but I think our Rexburg cupcakes were even better, but it was fun, since they had their own show on TLC it was good to see.  We had to be back to Virginia by 5ish, so we ordered an Uber, since we had a free one to come get us and take us to a metro station.  Brenda called Amanda and told her she would be picking us up in a different vehicle and we found out that on the way home from dropping us off at the Metro she got in an accident and she had to get a rental since hers wasn't working.  We went to dinner that night with Amanda's brother at Brenda's friend's Thai restaurant and it was so good.  After dinner we stopped at Walmart and then headed back to the house so we could go to bed early since our flight left early the next morning.  When we got back to the house they showed us lightning bugs, it was so much fun, I have gone all my 47 years of life without seeing them, so it was something new and fun.

I am struggling with the fact that these pictures loaded totally out of order, but I guess they loaded and that is what matters.
