Jerika's Sr. Yearbook photos

 

I put pictures on here from my phone and then think I will journal later and then I totally forget or get caught up in other crap and just don’t get it done. I really should write what I feel at time, because I have decided my opinions and emotions about some things have changed after they have been posted for a few weeks. Long story, so I won’t expound…..your welcome.

For Jerika’s year book pictures and picture for her activity card this year they had them go to a local photographer.  To purchase on 8x10 it was $46 and they only took 4 poses, so I decided I would just sneak my phone in and take a few shots.  They are a little blurry, but I had to document it some how.  I also took a few pictures of her in a fancy chair they had in the dressing room, but I will post some of those later. 

Jerika and I decided together that instead of just doing one photo shoot for her Senior pictures we are going to do several through the year.  Which is a good thing, since we started, which was during the summer, I think she has colored her hair at least 2 or 3 different times.  Silly kid.  We have already done 4 different sessions and it has been so much fun to spend that extra time with her.  The end of the school year is going to come way too fast I am afraid.

These were the 3 different poses they did with her and actually maybe one other one, but I wasn't at a good enough angle to get any of those (or should I say sneak any of those.)

Madison Homecoming

Jerika and her friend Kacee at the Madison Homecoming parade.  I can't believe she is a Senior, boy how time flies.  I work with Kacee's mom and they came to our office and watched the parade with us.  Aren't they so cute!! 

Leg wrestling?

This is Jerika and Chelsea.  Chelsea is living with us and has been off and on since July.  Her family used to live in our ward when we lived in Rexburg and we have just kept in touch over the years.  And Chelsea came out to school here and got to be really close with our family.  She is off track right now and will go back to school in January, so right now she is just working and living with us. 

The other night she asked Jerika if she wanted to leg wrestle and Jerika had no clue what she was talking about, so this is pictures of them leg wrestling.  It was pretty funny at the time, things can get pretty silly at our house for sure.  I guess because we don’t have boys at our house, our girls are missing the finer experiences in life, such as leg wrestling.  Good thing we had Chelsea here to teach us a thing or two

As I said in my previous biking post, these two crazy ladies have been riding their bikes almost every morning this summer.  I forgot to mention that my amazing husband loaded up my bike (that I hadn't ridden in 15 years) and took my bike into the shop and got it all fixed up so I could go with them.  I think those first few mornings I really slowed them down, so after that they would ride ahead because I felt so guilty.  This was our last ride of the summer and we rode almost 9 miles.  I think I kept up pretty good or maybe they were just trying to make me feel good and they rode a little slower.  I really didn’t realize how much fun it would be and how peaceful the mornings could be and the time went fast because we were talking the whole time. Thanks girls for getting me out of my comfort zone and trying to get me off my butt, it might have worked.

This was the day of Jerika's birthday and Ray was able to come through the house on his way to Canda.  I was coming home from Rexburg and there he was on the Sugar City exit to go home.  I just thought it was funny, so I took a picture.  I am not going to lie, I love that I can blog from my cell phone.  It really makes things much easier, however I might be slacking at taking pics with my camera though.

Every year on birthdays I really feel bad because I don't think that I do enough.  Especially on monumental birthdays and this year wasn't much different.  So, we decided ahead of time to do something for Jerika ALL DAY pretty much and Friday and a surprise party on Saturday night. (She had to work the night of her birthday.)

 

Chelsea (who lives with us) and Kinlee went to McDonalds before Jerika woke up and brought us all breakfast back.

 

Then a few days before her birthday I would take the day off because I wanted to take her to lunch and Kinlee had games that day too, so I just didn't work.  Cute Cody and Jerika are going to the same school this year, and they usually have lunch together, so I picked them up and we all went to lunch at Taco Time.

 

It was so much fun spending time with them!!

 

Friday night was supposed to be family dinner wherever she wanted, but it ended up just being the 3 of us because Ray was in Canada and didn't get home until Sunday.  He was not a happy camper that he missed her birthday celebrations, but sometimes thats what happens in the trucking world.

 

I also took cupcakes to her work to surprise her when she got there.  Another girl she works with got her a big cupcake and so did her Young womens leader.

 

I went and got these balloons to put in her car at school, but when I got to the school I realized I brought Ray's keys to his dodge pickup, not to the dodge neon.  DUH, so they were hanging on her door when she got home after work.

I had also gone to my friend Nichole's house the night before and took a present to her for Jerika.  Nichole is Jerika's third hour teacher and was more than willing to get in on the day long festivities.  She had the class sing to Jerika and I am pretty sure Jerika loved that, not.

 

This is a picture from Saturday night at her party.  We invited 3 of her best friends to the party and then Allisa and Amanda (since we are the really fun ones anyway.)  We watched a movie and had cake and ice cream.  I have pictures of her friends on my camera, but I haven't downloaded them yet, I guess I should add them to this post.  Anyway, she was so surprised she had no idea at all we were having a party for her so that made it even better!!  She is such an amazing girl and deserved everything we did for her for her birthday.  I didn't take pictures of her opening presents, because the only thing she really opened was the present I sent to school.  She wanted cowboy boots, so we just gave her money for them and she went and picked them out.  Thanks Boo Boo for being such a good girl and for making being your mom so easy (most of the time).  Love ya I hope you had a happy birthday!!  (I just realized this picture could be mistaken for a Nike ad.) 

First day of school

I only took 3 pictures on the first day of school this year.  Kinlee has to be at school at 8 and Jerika at 8:30, so they weren't quite on the same schedule, but I made them do it anyway.

Jerika is a Senior and Kinlee is in 7th grade (Jr. High)
